Post Colonial Study of The Novel “Kai Chand Thy Sare Aasmaan”

Abstract:

Colonialism refers to the combination of territorial, juridical, cultural, linguistic, political, mental, and economic domination of one group of people or groups of people by another (external) group of people. European colonialism refers to the various formulas of territorial domination effected by European powers upon non-European people from the late 1400s to the mid- to late 1900s. Urdu fiction went through a substantial change during the colonial period. The colonial discourse narrated and disseminated through different technologies of educational subjugation and epistemological usurpation in official and historical works brought forth some serious changes in the worldview of Urdu fiction writers. They discovered and presented the subjectivity of the colonised. This essay presents post-colonial impacts in the novel of Shamsu Rehman Farooqui’s novel “Kai Chand thy Sare aasmaan”
