Abstract:
Multan has always been an important region due to its antiquity, civilization, culture, and contributions to knowledge and the arts. Dr. Farooq Usman has masterfully and skillfully analyzed the history of the subcontinent, the history of Urdu literature, and the novels and works of four prominent Urdu novelists — Qurratulain Hyder, Khadija Mastoor, Intizar Hussain, and Aziz Ahmed. According to Dr. Farooq Usman, there is a deep connection between religion and culture. His literary criticism reflects not only honesty but also his deep study and scholarly insight into various aspects of literature. His critique is powerful and purpose-driven, and behind this distinctive quality lies his deep love for the Urdu language and literature.
