Post Colonialism: In The Novel Aangan by Khadija Mastoor
Abstract:
Post-colonialism is the phenomenon of the process of occupation and colonisation. It dates back to the conscious living of human beings. It continued throughout the history of mankind, but modern colonialism, including occupying different parts of the world by European powers, is unique, complex and more strategic. This resulted in a change of culture, thoughts, language and literature. This paper attempts to survey the novel Aangan by Khadija Mastoor from the perspective of colonial and postcolonial repercussions. First, different themes are analysed in order to judge the general themes and issues of the novel. Later on, through minute and micro studies, different concepts emerged as a result of the colonial process and its aftermath. Based on the findings, the research was drawn.
