Abstract:

The beauty of a literary work depends on both its content and its usloob —the distinctive style through which ideas are expressed. Although “style” and “mode of writing” may seem similar, critics clearly separate them. Style includes structure, tone, aesthetic appeal, and the thoughtful, effective use of language. It reflects the writer’s personality and appears in various forms such as classical, romantic, narrative, and expository styles.Shamsur Rahman Faruqi occupied a distinguished place in Urdu criticism, translation, journalism, and education, but his most unique contribution was in fiction. His 2006 novel Kai Chand Thay Sar-e-Aasmaan remains an exceptional work.As noted, style is shaped not only by language but by artistic conventions. In this novel, Faruqi uses a prose style that evokes the atmosphere of the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries.This research study examines the distinctive prose style Faruqi employed in Kai Chand Thay Sar-e-Aasmaan.
